Reason#1 Fuel tank solution ..I loved my LCs, Nissan GQ, and Prados with a dual tank setup.
Reason#2 Unknown BMW engine+ gearbox reliability in Outback towing ...mind you, the only problems I ever had were dirty fuel/dirty fuel & air filters/ Filters/ LC 80 cracked springs/ LC 55 series failed slave clutch cylinder / blown alternator diodes from a cross-wired kick start helper - a 4WD mag editor
Keen to see/ hear about a few go-around Aus & African continent destinations. The Global Ineos Trials insight served me well. Keen to drive one home from Hambach, France.
