Great News that the fusilier is back on the table, love the look of it. I think it’s going to be a hard sell against the defender sport if they don’t get it right. I’m hearing it won’t be solid front axle, which is a shame. They really need to offer something largely different and better to compete with the mini defender.

You could be right, the jimny seems to be a huge hit with its solid front axle. To be in the race I believe it needs to have better payload, off road, towing and price.

Jimny was always a small volume production vehicle so the new shape being more desirable just created demand that exceeded production giving the impression of being a big seller. Uk Jimny buyers previous demographic were older people who kept for long term, the new model managed to attract a younger audience but not all appreciated the driving experience.

To be a volume seller, that Ineos needs to prop up the Grenadier, the Fusilier does need to be a more 'normal' vehicle that caters for all but looks like it's a real tough off-roader. Ineos will tell everyone that it is just as capable in the same way Landrover does, just a different way of going about it. The reviewers who drive sports cars will then be able to drive it and say how good it is off-road when driving a muddy track
