Interesting. I don't think that approach will play well in the US market. Were they originally planning on bringing the Fusilier to America?

I have no problem with electric cars, but I think it's nuts that companies have to produce hybrids or EVs just to comply with emissions regulations.

pretty sure the Fuselier was mainly aimed at the UK/European market as many places don't allow diesel or even petrol vehicles to be driven into cities, or charge a lot to do it.
There is also considerable vehicle size issues in cities and towns in UK and Europe.
I doubt they were planning on taking it top the US, maybe California??
It was never planned to be built by Ineos at Hambach, it was going to be built by Magna in Austria.
 
This may be needed for non-US markets. It appears that US emissions regulations have been/will be turned back. Way back. It’ll be pretty much anything goes without restrictions, as far as I can understand it. And California’s EV ambitions seem to have been ended by congress, depending on what happens next in the courts. Chinese vehicles are still de facto prohibited in the US.

Actually I don't think any cities in Europe have banned petrol and diesels yet.
It's more about levies being placed on manufacturers where the emissions of their vehicle range are above a certain figure. An EV as part of the range will help that.
 
Most European countries base their vehicle taxes on CO2 emissions and a separate set of taxes on the aggregate level across a manufacturer's sold fleet. The second set of taxes is why the Fusilier is desirable to IA and why Suzuki stopped selling Jiminys as cars, (only vans now).

There isn't piece of maga schwag in your closet that isn't made in G'ynna' to keep it cheap enough for the schlubs to buy it, at max profit.

By the time Fusilier shows in flesh, the U.S. will have changed the course by close to 180 degrees.
 
I am fascinated by the EV concept on a 4x4; but I am doubtful that you could lead me down the hybrid path. Seems like an unnecessary compromise. I have Diesel XC90, and a petrol Fieldmaster. Both of which I love to bits.

If either of them had been available as a full EV at the time of purchase, I would have been interested...... a smaller version does not fit the same set of criteria. Whilst an EV on the island would make perfect sense, smaller does not. Three large dogs (4 until recently) fit in the XC90 boot - 3 in the Grenadier. Smaller = fewer dogs.
