Somewhere on one of these chats a few months ago we were talking about fuel economy and I can't find it now.
Below is a snapshot of a recent run I did which was a mixture of highway, roadworks, urban and general driving all in sport mode.

A twin sequential compound turbo diesel as used in the Grenadier. Except mine is only 2.1 litre not 3 litre.
Speed limited to 250kmh but I have never been past 220kmh.

*****sorry replied to the wrong comment*******

This was around Eastern when we drove a convoy of donated fire fighting vehicles to the Polish-Ukrainian boarder.
I was driving the escorting Volkswagen T5 with long wheelbase and 115 hp 2.0 single turbo diesel. trip = distance from start (filled up) “Reichweite” means estimated range.

My car has a 69 litre tank and I have seen a range of over 1,400km on the dial.

My last car was a BMW X4 3.0 diesel MSport. More or less the same engine and ZF gearbox as the Grenadier. On a steady motorway run, sitting at 60-70mph, I could average 48-51 mpg. In urban driving, I could get 28-35 mpg. The X4 is more aerodynamic than the Grenadier and had road tyres. However, the BMW diesel units have the ability to be reasonably fuel efficient.

These are calculations based on government regulations. They are designed to squeeze as much tax out of owners as possible. They certainly don't take into account how drivers actually drive, especially those who pay attention to their fuel consumption.

The calculations as we have seen can get you into trouble if not correct or above, but what is correct and as emax points out driver ability and attention to usage. The big differences weight, load and general conditions, road, and weather. I have spoken before about owning many diesels and what you learn from them, treat them correctly and the rewards are plenty and only get better with time and kms...premium diesel has premium results for the engine and kms...happy motoring

The CO₂ emission (Diesel – 276-319 g/km, Petrol – 325-336 g/km) and fuel consumption (Diesel – 10.5-12.2 mpg, Petrol – 14.4-14.9 mpg) figures quoted by INEOS are Combined Cycle estimates. Where a range is quoted, the low figure is from a base vehicle, high from fully optioned vehicle with off-road tyres. Passenger (M1) vehicles are tested with 15% of payload. Commercial (N1) vehicles are tested with 28% of payload (Bodystyle and powertrain availability may vary by market). These figures may not reflect real world driving conditions, which will depend upon a number of factors including variations in weather, driving styles, vehicle load and accessories fitted (post-registration).

The above is taken from Grenadier's current online brochure.
The first line is obviously BS regarding the economy milage the petrol is better than the diesel....really,
but could it just be the units are wrong not the numbers? should read...Diesel 10.5 l/100km = 26.9mpg(uk)? That sounds about right

At that speed, I would expect pretty good fuel economy
