Does anyone have experience with these? My home axes are too nice, you’d better believe it -Lemmy, are too nice to carry (exposed) on the wagon.

28” seems to be mid range.

They look nice.

That's a splitter not an axe.
Fiskars is a great brand but if you are looking to replace an axe for cutting branches and trees I wouldn't go with one of these.

I have a hatchet and machete in the wagon for small stuff. And a saw.

I am looking at splitting firewood.

What do you recommend for camping?

Fiskars is an excellent product so I would say definitely yes.
I have used many Fiskars products and previously sold some Fiskars tools, but not this range.
I have split a lot of firewood over the years, particularly 24-26" rounds and I also recommend you get some good wedges to go with it.

That's the one I used to carry on our Tundra specifically for splitting firewood at camp, fantastic bit of kit

Have the X21 splitter... most excellent, can definitely recommend.

I have a few Fiskars and some more expensive Swedish ones. While the Gransfors are quality I think pound for pound you cannot beat the Fiskars and if it gets nicked or driven over then less tears will be shed.

The wood I have to deal with requires a blockbuster and wedges.
Eucalyptus is a bugger to deal with.
Wattle is worse.
These days I hire a petrol powered woodsplitter for home use.
And carry a chainsaw when camping.
And a hatchet to chase off the spiders.

My issue with fiskar axes is they are too light for splitting wood (at least Australian hardwood) so couldn’t recommend them for that. They are well made and I’ve had my axe for well over a decade and it’s well made. But for splitting logs is largely useless.
I haven’t used their splitter so can’t comment on that but I’d have concerns about the weight still. To get through eucalyptus hardwood you need something with a bit of weight, and that’s where fiskar is at a shortfall.
Light pine, can’t comment as I rarely/never use it for anything but kindling and then use my machete anyway.
