Hello folks!

Well I’ll be damned if I cannot find a pass-through in the firewall. Canny posted a video from a RHD model that would have been perfect for my Wolfbox 900 tri pro bumper camera where a grommet was located. Unfortunately mine does not have this.

Does anyone have any suggestions for routing wires from the cabin to the engine bay?

Thanks a ton!

The pass though used by Canny is not available on US models. Cannot remember what uses it or it is not there, but it is not available, as you found.

Once a US solution is posted I will add it to the links. I just made it clear the Canny video only applies to RHD cars.

Not sure if this will help - but at around the 7:40 mark he talks about where the passthrough is on US trucks.

There are indeed rubber hole plugs in the fire wall just above the footwell liner to the hard right of the passenger well and to the hard left of the driver well. The passenger one is easily seen without removing the trim panel. The Driver one is hidden by the trim panel but it is there with factory wires running through it.

Thanks! I’ll give it a looksie tonight!!!!

I used the lower left side small grommet to run a wire from the engine compartment to the vehicle interior. It was a little difficult. There were no other wires running through it though. MY 24/1 US build.

Thank you Sir! Finished the Wolfbox 900 Tripro bumper but will wait til tomorrow to do the firewall run. I’ll most likely go your route and will have a few beers waiting on deck when I start swearing and tossing tools…..lol!

I’ll be certain to document it all to help the others trying to figure out the bumper camera run!

Do you happen to have a photo? I am trying to run my Lensun power cable through.

These are the best I can do for pictures with my dumb phone. The grommet is located on the far left of the firewall very close to the fender. It's installed from the engine compartment side and very difficult to reach. This first image is looking straight down in the very rear left corner of the engine bay. You can see the grommet with the line I ran through to the rear of the vehicle. Below that is a larger grommet with (I think) the hood/bonnet release cable. Below that are some Autumn leaves stuck to the silly fiber batting that covers the inner wheel arches. Sorry for the fingers. I was holding a flashlight.

On the inside the hole is located just above and to the left of the LHD foot rest. I wasn't feeling especially patient when I ran a wire through it so (following someone else's advice) I pushed the grommet out from the inside, then retrieved it from engine bay, and installed it inside the cab and pushed the line through it from there. The grommet hole is fairly close to the 800mm waterline set by Ineos so iirc I put a little RTV sealant on the grommet before I pushed it into place.
