Please can anyone tell me what the small plastic connector is and where I can buy a new one as this has cracked at the end that joins one of the emissions recirculating solenoids and I need a new one please!

You're in luck Sam, kinda.

There is an open service campaign to replace those coupling ends due to cracking. Talk to your agent.

This is the Ineos work order number, not the part number.
MWO002880-EGR MODULE COUPLING ROD.

You might be able to reconnect the link temporarily by reassembling it and securing it with a cable tie or a small hose clamp around the socket.

Edit: Deleted a reference to a possible BMW alternate part. Part was tested by @landmannnn and is not suitable. Refer post #13 below.

I've just ordered one of those mentioned by ,@Clark Kent, see if it fits. At about €18 it is better than a six hour roumd trip to an Ineos dealer

A couple of cable ties as a temporary fix to support the sockets. I can't see any cracking but I didn't tempt fate by removing them for a closer look.

Zooming in, the point of failure is just at the end of that slot. The material is very thin at that point.

Thanks @landmannnn. It's not a no. There is a white mark visible on the rim of both couplings which could be a closed crack. I'm not going to pry on them to test it out. Once I have replacements I'll be able to play some more.

Looking back at this post, which may be one of the first reports of this fault, I can see the failure is at the same point.

So there you go B57 owners, check your EGR couplings if you haven't had the campaign done yet.

Mine snapped, used more adblue until Ineos replaced under warranty. How far is your dealer

If you're desperate and cannot get to an Ineos agent it might be BMW PN 11719887735 based on a current X5 parts diagram. See item 4, Pushrod. A BMW part should be a direct fit but I would physically check at a BMW service department before ordering and paying.

Not quite the right part. The ball joint is fine, the hole on the other end is slightly larger and doesn't clip in solidly.
It does work though.

That's weird. That coupling is a production part back to July 2021 across a range of BMW models fitted with B57 - below. I wonder if the EGR valve is Ineos specific, including a change in dimension of the pivot shaft? A heatshrink sleeve might tighten up that coupling.
No matter, I'll edit my post above so no one else goes down that path. Perhaps we'll be able to extract IA part numbers from the manuals soon.

A follow up to this thread. These are the Ineos replacement parts for the EGR coupling (Actuator Pushrod).
PN GRA-3H24-013810.

The original part has a slotted cup and is susceptible to cracking hence the service campaign to replace them.

The replacement part has a full cup and a thicker rim so should be more durable

Edit: Magnified pics added. Crack in old parts visible. A good pickup by my agent's technician.
