I have a formal offer from NFU Mutual and I need to make a decision, ideally for Tuesday; the estimated price of the repair and keep the vehicle, passing the risk that something else is damaged to me and extending the time I don't have a vehicle into the Autumn, (possibly even longer, no one can give me any guarantees), or about £6k more and they keep the truck.
I have a viewing of a used Grenadier for sale tomorrow afternoon that I can realistically afford, so the decision is likely to be driven by the availability of a replacement at fairly short notice. (There are a few more with dealers I could just afford, but there would have to be specification and/or financial adjustments to make).
Looking at the offers, they are probably pitched right for "market value", which is all I am entitled to, (I've analysed a lot of Grenadier adverts), so I cannot whinge about being cheated by the insurance company. They have done the best they can with the scenario they were presented with.
