Drill pattern for rust proofing application

Is there such a thing as too much rust prevention?
You could fill the chassis with molten lead I suppose.
But old fashioned galvanising seems to work for boat trailers, and I thought the Grenadier had a modern whoopydoo version of that idea?
Electrophoretic coating , wax etc. 12 year warranty so they must be confident.

The Grenadiers major steel components are Galvanized from what I understand. Sure it can rust in extreme cases, but these trucks should not need additional rust protection generally speaking. My Volvo C303's body is fully galvanized, it will effectively live for ever.

Considering the weight of the car, Ineos obviously found the idea of the lead appealing...
Reading about the idea to drill holes into a very good protected piece of metal makes me shake my head.
This destroys the treated surface and, in the worst case, produces highly corrosive drilling chips that fall inwards.

There are always people who reckon they are better engineers than real engineers 😀
Drill the Ineos chassis and the generous 12 year warranty is going to be void.

Yeah - undergrad and then grad school, so a long time. She would kind of like to stay, which I get, but doesn’t see a practical next step for that. Plans to come back to the US in September.
Nice. Depending on her education there’s likely options to stay. But it really does come down to what she wants. I’ve traveled to the US many times and it’s a great country too. Honestly though right now I’m not sure what’s going on in the US but it’s not the country I’ve known all of my life.
