When the Detour first was shown it had headlight guards that I really liked. I found someone making a ABS knockoff on Amazon and picked up a pair. Here is picture of detour and my new headlight guards.

Only good for low branches, they will be coming off, once bull bar goes on.What do you reckon they would actually protect the lights from?
I’m thinking only errant branches, or maybe animal strike?
I’d be most concerned about copping a rock flicked up from another vehicle, and I’m not sure they would help all that much.
Rocky’s long lashes on the other hand…….
I had a friend with those on her bronze coloured defender shorty. Can’t say I was a fan back then either.![]()
The guards only block some of the DRL, the main night lights are center bulb and not blocked. When bull bar arrives, they come off. Gotten them to block low branches. Those guards are blocking a fair amount of light.
Don't remove useful function.
