The only pushback I'll offer is that this set-up has a tendency to mar the frame... which, in the case of my Rivendell Rambouillet was a shame.

Yeah, I should point out I ride steel and titanium bikes, and my mtb is an Chris Chance bike. I thought wrapping the frame was obvious, but anyhow, most of my paint mishaps come from me working on the bike on the trail, or by the side of the road. Titanium is my fav just because it takes a lot of abuse, as does steel. I don't care about weight, if I did I'd be on a crash diet since I could probably lose 5-10lbs from my body cheaper than my bike.
