Corrosion

I have some corrosion on the hinges themselves which they have agreed to replace, and I know another member who has just had his rear hinges replaced under warranty for the same thing.
Concerning to see what looks like galvanic action on the door itself.
Yep definitely galvanic by the looks of it, when my dealer responds I’ll post it here!

I feel reminded to my old defender when my healer told me that the aluminiumdoors were fixed on steelframes. So the steel rotted under the aluminium

It is more likely vice versa. Aluminium is more the base metall, the anode, providing ions and thereby corroding. If the steel corrodes it is more likely due to normal corrosion.

The ratio of aluminium and steel is also important. If you just have a little bit of steel and a lot of aluminium, the steel can't absorb too much ions, thereby the alu corrodes very slowly.

My guess is, if you installed a door hinge step and you experience this type of corrosion, warranty is mostly like not applied in this case unless it becomes a recall.

I would suspect any modifications could be a cause for Ineos to reject the claim however, if you can prove there was a gasket type barrier that prevented the chance of additional galvanic corrosion, they may be more sympathetic. Ineos have stated they want owners to modify their vehicles.

You asserted seemingly out of the blue. I’m curious why.

Grant you I am indeed hoping the op did mess with the vehicle. Don’t want this to be another warranty issue we all hang to deal with
The same with the drive shaft issue, INEOS has shown to be strict with modifications which ends up not being covered under warranty. I have door hinges installed on mine and I’m hoping this doesn’t become a common issue that will eventually pop up in the future.
