Is our national speed limit 20mph or 50 now? Cars are so unsafe and stopping distance is as bad as it was when the highway code was first invented our clever overlords have finally realised they need to slow us down. Luckily, no matter how far you travel it only slows you down by 1 minute. Time travel exists on UK roads!Doesn't Aus have a National Speed Limit? That's standard for the UK ( and I think for all of EU expect Germany) when you pass a speed limit ends sign the NSL applies.
Would it not just have been easier to put the new speed limit up?Doesn't Aus have a National Speed Limit? That's standard for the UK ( and I think for all of EU expect Germany) when you pass a speed limit ends sign the NSL applies.
Ok
I took this picture today of a speed sign I go past regularly
It proudly shouts that the 70kmh speed limit has ended.
Doesn’t mention anywhere what the new speed limit is.

We all seem to live in a police state that is used to raise cash for the state. Uk 'smart' motorway in Birmingham is very busy but they constantly change the speed limit to confuse drivers into making a mistake. It's dangerous and just outright lies100 unless otherwise posted, until they change it to 80 as the default to increase revenue from fines all under the lie of saving lives
May I suggest switching to aluminum. I understand aluminum scatters and tin gathers. We all seem to live in a police state that is used to raise cash for the state. I also have a very fashionable tin hat![]()
Come to Pennsylvania, home of the most expensive toll road in the US. They used to have toll gates on the on and off ramps. Now they place them every couple miles on overhead gantries. Why? There are often several of these toll sensors along stretches of road where there is no way to get on or off the motorway. I guess with all the sensors, we'll start getting speeding tickets because they will get a better gauge of your speed. We all seem to live in a police state that is used to raise cash for the state. We now have a toll bridge locally where previously it was free. There are no toll booths, just an electronic sign telling you to pay online before midnight or midnight following day.Come to Pennsylvania, home of the most expensive toll road in the US. Damn, that's brutal. At least here if you don't have a transponder, they capture a picture of your license plate and bill you - with an additional fee applied. We now have a toll bridge locally where previously it was free. Used to have few shops you could pay on, but they are now very rare. You can ring but no number is shown. Mother in law doesn't drive but her friend does, they have no access to Internet and friend has dumb phone only, which is never charged anyway. You go over bridge, come back late and then you forget all about paying and get a fine. They are owed loads of cash. I knew of one bloke who owed 10's of thousands due to fines as we used to get the bailiffs round but didn't know his address.
We are being watched by our overlords and aliens![]()
