Chuckle in Your Day! (AKA the joke thread)

I don't know anything about Australia but you sound fortunate. (Exhaustive example: I have a cousin by marriage who moved there from the States for the schools and he is very happy. His son has flourished in cricket!) But our cities are becoming very unsafe for failure to enforce laws combined with domestic and illegally imported criminals. Security, from crime and foreign militaries, are the core responsibilities of our governments. They aren't doing the former very well. Plus there have been assassinations and their attempts. I hope for a change since the liberal tradition is too valuable to squander.
All countries have positives and negatives, good things and bad.
We are lucky that we are a remote island, but mostly that we tend to have a good sense of humour and don't take things, or ourselves, too seriously.
Houses are very expensive but wages are good and so is work life balance in general.
we work to live and not live to work.

We are also a lot more accepting of other people's cultures and backgrounds in general.

Thankfully religion is going away as it is the No1 cause of conflict in the world.
Although we tend to respect people have the right to practice whatever religion they want, just keep it to yourself.

The number of Australians who identified as having no religion increased again this census (38.9%), rocketing up from 30.1% in 2016.

Crime is relatively low by world standards, however domestic violence is an issue.
Knowing that it is highly unlikely that someone will be armed with a gun certainly makes everyone more relaxed and has a huge impact on police attitude as well.
Recent death of 2 police officers is seen as a real tragedy and unacceptable.

Crime in the US is not driven by guns but by demographics. Lots of folks carry guns here and in no way does that make me feel uncomfortable.

Did not know that there were hordes of Atheist in Australia but, not sure how one can be excited about that.

Please provide a source for your assertion that religion is the #1 cause of conflict in the world....even a funny one will suffice!

This is a joke thread. Please steer back to it.

We say no politics or religion and now we’re combining them in a thread meant to simply provide a giggle.

However, a Rabbi, the Dali Lama, and the Pope walk in a pub..

Sorry
I forgot the first amendment doesn't apply on the chuckle thread.
Or to Australians

SURPRISE!!
As the weather warms up the wildlife is coming out of winter hideouts.
My wife and I were heading out for a slow Sunday morning walk yesterday and one of the local Goanna's thought it would play a joke on her.
Highly unlikely they would do you any harm, unless you do something stupid.
For comparison the gray pot is 30 cm or 1 foot square
Last Sunday it was kangaroos in the front yard.
