Buying demo car advice

Hi everyone! New member long time stalker.

My wife and I are moving to Romania and really want to get a the station wagon and start fitting it for overlanding.
We are looking to buy a used one in Germany, we're entitled to VAT deduction there and in our budget there are quite a few options.
We want the lockers and preferably the auxiliary battery and we see a lot of demo ones with roughly 10k to 15k kilometers on them that looks like a good deal.
The privately owned ones for roughly the same price are around the 40k.
What are your thoughts on getting a demo vehicle from late 2023? Are there any specific things to look at beside recalls and service history?
We we're specially looking at one and it very likely was used on this video, the video kind of discouraged us.. I'm sure the car can take the beating but around minute 24 they take it through 1m of water that made me wonder it wouldn't leave some lasting damage or corrosion on electronics..
Sorry for all the rambling, I'm super excited on getting my hands on one!
Any advice and thought will be much appreciated :)

Personally I wouldn’t be worried about it being in water to that depth. It’s fresh water and driving in a storm at highway speeds will get your vehicle just as wet I guess. The other thing is how do you know the other private Grenadiers you may be interested in have not done that or worse. I’d be quite happy to buy an ex demo myself. It’ll have two or three years warranty left anyway.
Enjoy your overlanding.

I would search out a model that has been a garage princess. Very low Kms, clean underneath etc.
It will take a bit longer, but worth the effort in my opinion.
