This Article "BMW to recall over 196,000 U.S. vehicles due to engine starter defect" indicates that the Toyota Supra is involved in the recall. The Supra uses the same engine as the Petrol Grenadier/Quartermaster (the B58), so I wonder if this issue impacts our vehicles?
BMW is recalling over 196,000 vehicles in the U.S. as the engine starter relay may corrode, leading to overheating and short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.
The issue affects multiple models including the Toyota Supra and 2022 BMW 230i vehicles, the U.S. auto safety regulator said on Sept. 26. The Supra has been built by Toyota in a collaboration with BMW, which includes a shared platform.
BMW dealers will replace the engine starter, free of charge, NHTSA said in the notice.
It was not immediately clear how the Supra recall would be handled.
