As an ‘Merican I’ve got a room full, but I tend to find myself gravitating back to the 20” ers, not for the velocity or any other valid but yet mundane reason, if’n yer the one gettin’ smoked, but because a 20” AR is pure ergonomic genius for someone my height. My only thing is, I still have a proclivity for the shorter A1 stock and a fatty grip that gets in the way of a true period correct gun.

I’ll take mine black, please.

I have two but do idea what I built I think M4 variant would that be a 16in I assume I need to take them out to play now that I can probably feed them again. I do need optics what do you suggest?

Well… it all kinda depends on what you’re looking for, and your eyesight. I’ll just make a generic assumption of a doitall gun that works but doesn’t waste money.

For an inexpensive ar flat top m4 for plinking, a 1-6 primary arms would do just fine. Seriously. I have mostly eotec optics because that’s what I’m used to, which are expensive for what they are, but the cheaper optics today fine. spend all your time in either 1x or 6x and cover everything a 556 will do well.

The one on this gun is a primary arms pretend aimpoint m2 red dot. I put it on as a place holder until a nice m2 comes along (discontinued and improved, I just want m2 on the side of it as that was issue) and to be frank, this, at I think 99 bucks, is as good as any m2 I used 20 years ago. It ain’t like I’m taking it to Siberia and I have to be concerned about negative 40. One doesn’t need a Rolex to tell what time it is.

Given Eugene Stoner's gas impingement system was patented nearly 70 years ago in 1956, they are by definition old school at this point.
Talking about the carry handle and how the hand guard is shaped and affixed. Much has evolved since then.

First one being lower right? That is a Lewis Machine and Tool pistol. It is designed for Class 3 FA fire in CQB. It is semi auto in this configuration. The A3 platform is flat top and the A2 sight gives way to an optic. That is an Aimpoint Comp.

It is good to have choices.

I don't understand the need for so many variations of the same thing.
I guess if you have lots of money it helps get rid of it, but I can think of so many other things I would prefer to spend it on.
A long way from being particularly knowledgeable on that rifle but I would think 1 or 2 would be more than enough.
What do you use all the different variations for?
Please don't say home defense.
PS I love guns so not anti-gun at all.

Money is meaningless when things get difficult. What is meaningful is your ability to do a thing, to adapt and overcome.

One person doing a thing is a good start, 30-50 of your friends doing a thing is an outcome waiting to happen. Be the outcome you want to be.

Eveything you see is in the photo is a tool, all different with subtle exception that all are 5.56 and 7.62 (NATO) caliber.

You should see my socket collection.

As a Brit, I find that really startling - outside of a military armoury, you just don't see that many firearms in one place. I think you would struggle to buy a gun safe big enough in the UK!
Not to worry, none of us have a desire to move to England. Not a bad feeling about Brits but, we have more freedom here I believe.

It depends on how old you are. That was cutting edge in it’s it’s day. To me, this one is old school.

In my opinion, this is one of the reasons that America has more freedom when compared to other countries. However, I don't believe this will last too much longer considering how the younger generations are turning out.

Well, maybe a generation ago it was. When you look at military tactics, (ALL rifles are now PDWs) and the prevalence of facial and motion recognition cameras (height weight and how you walk), combined with AI and all the personal profile data whats been collected and now in the hands of DOGE and PTG, the idea of a citizen revolt is really fucking quaint. Isolating trouble makers is as easy as facebook target marketing. I guarantee you with next gen drones, it is now an impossibility. You don't need to store a 14k drum of mk262, because you're not getting to the end of your first magazine after contact is made. What you're watching in Ukraine is a 3rd world country utilizing cobbled together commercial/retail technology to thwart a technologically stagnant regime crippled by corruption. Now imagine the oppressor having next generation stuff, and organized. It's over, johnny. Owning a rifle for revolution is moot.

That depressing fact aside, It's kinda part of who I am. While there's no chance I'd kill an unarmed man that intended to rob or mug me, as mere money is not the equivalent of a life no matter how misguided they may be, I still find firearms fun, and I intend on keeping them around.
