FYI All-

I've been driving my Grenny everyday for about 22-months now, mostly suburban highway and roads driving, and recently I've been getting this Bell-sound everytime I go over a bump. The sound was becoming more frequent as time goes on, and I was afraid something must be loose under the chassis.

Stopped at my local Ineos dealership, the put the car on an lift, and apparently the steering stabilizer housing got loose and was creating this sound.

Quick replace and all is fixed.

Good luck all.

Glad you got it sorted. A loose or faulty steering stabilizer is a common culprit for strange noises and is a known issue on some Grenadiers. Thanks for the update

A long way from anywhere to replace it buf 2x50cm wraps of fabric tape turn the bell ring into a dull ‘thonk’.
Great. Something else to put in the tool kit.

I have a loaner at the moment and driving over a bump resulted in the internal warning 'bonk' sound this morning. Not a mechanical sounds but the warning sound in the car, sort of like a door open warning. Nothing on the alerts though. My take on it was it's a loose back door sensor. It's a '23 diesel wagon. Not the same thing here ?

I wonder what Ineos have done on the 25 models to eliminate the bong noise on the steering damper.

I had it on mine and the damper wasn’t loose, only happened off roading. I stuck a strip of sound dampener on the back of it.
