Hi all,
Looking at options for diesel heaters for the cab. (I've been sleeping in the cab and significantly underestimated these cold Scandinavian nights... The best I'm coming across for my needs is the Autoterm Travel Box 2.0.
I'm not a fan of much modification and like that with this option is pretty much turnkey... it can plug directly into the 12V outlet to charge the battery, is portable and can be removed and stored when not in use, and has an integrated fuel tank. I plan to run it outside the vehicle and run the duct through a lowered window which I will seal with a removable foam insert (or similar).
I've seen the posts on the integrated Webasto unit and installation estimates for around €3500 which would probably be my next choice... seeing as the Autoterm is less than half that price I'm really leaning towards going for it but want to hear if anyone had thoughts on this. There are similar all-in-one Vevor units, but I am inclined to not trust that brand, and they require a separate battery connection.
Maybe I'm being too precious here and should get the cheapo?
Vevor option for reference
Thanks!
