Another UK dealer gone.

Something similar.
It's a badge of honour , if you identify as such.
They judge me as much as I judge them ;)
We have oiks on the U.K. that run around in prison issue grey tracksuit bottoms and tops as a badge of honour.

From what I have been watching over the last 18 months prices have been slowly dropping, plenty to be had for under 100k whereas new is 130+ and multiple cars that have been on car sales for a few months so pretty slow to move
Yeah selling vehicles near the 100K mark is slow and average is nearing 3 months to sell in that price range for all 2nd hand models in that region. Then there is the 59-60k range for things such as near new Rangers and Hilux etc - they seem like hot cakes. A 2 year old CX5 seeks in the same week... demand for affordable is strong.

Lots of money in Qld in seems. With very expensive caravan parks, but you get mozzies and bogans for nothing!
You're welcome!
We have the most over paid tradies in Australia - fact. The sheer amount of jacked up 300S/RAM/76/79 is out of control and then there are the hundreds of Rangerovers and Porsche driven by local real estate owners and Cafe owners... $7 for a coffee no thanks.

When the 2nd hand prices decrease, the new dealer model becomes even more unattractive.

You mean when people read about water leaks , HVAC issues, oil leaks, no service centres, lack of parts and slow supply and lack of communication with Ineos and broken drive shafts people think twice about buying, that doesn’t even take the fuel consumption into account, people are quoting 14-19l per 100 with the diesel, that’s insane
Nothing to do with cost for the most part IMO

Any movement here?
I drove (100 miles!) to Compass Automotive in Bridgwater this morning for my 2nd service.

Tom was great, and also sorted me out unexpectedly with a loan car (they had a spare Isuzu pickup which I wasn’t expecting when I’d booked). While they serviced it I went to Taunton and visited the motor museum. Highly recommended.

5 hours later it was ready to take home. £542.08.

I’m a happy customer. Compass is a great setup.

I’d still like there to be a more local dealer, and I hear a rumour that there’s one lined up for North Hampshire. Perhaps a Landrover specialist. Which would be good for me.

I hope that rumour comes true. It’s been kicking around for a while now. 🤔

I hope so, that would work well for me. Just had my second service in Northampton, two days with them but they seem to have been thorough.

Nothing like it.
Wiki
<Some features regularly associated with the bogan stereotype include Anglo-Celtic Australians residing in the outer working class suburbs of larger cities, having teeth that have not had dental care due to cost, having an anti-authoritarian or jingoistic stance, as well as being interested in classic rock music, hoon-driving and excessive alcohol consumption.

Certain types of clothing are stereotypically associated with bogans, including flannelette shirts, blue singlets, Stubbie shorts, fluoro (abbreviated from "fluorescent") workwear, ugg boots,, jeans and black legging>
The "Mullet" haircut seems to be a revived bogan thing again also
