My wife wants to see an analoge speedometer in front of her nose… any ideas? A screen with a classic meter powerd by OBD port, headup display as dashboard mount….??? (Mobile phone is not an option)

My wife sits in the passenger seat and I wish she couldn't see the speedo at all.My wife wants to see an analoge speedometer in front of her nose… any ideas? A screen with a classic meter powerd by OBD port, headup display as dashboard mount….??? (Mobile phone is not an option)
Try driving on the UK, especially some parts, you will never take your eyes off the speedo.Interesting…I hardly ever look at the speedo unless there's a cop behind me or if they're ahead running radar/laser![]()
its the kids in the back seat for me - the screen is front and centre for them, i'm forever being asked why i'm doing 62 if the speed limit is 60...My wife sits in the passenger seat and I wish she couldn't see the speedo at all.
Worse now that some Regional Councils have introduced blanket 20mph speed limits in all towns and villages. My adjacent Council already has and my Council is half way through rolling out that programme.Try driving on the UK, especially some parts, you will never take your eyes off the speedo.
What is worse, Spain do this too, is the constant limit change. 40, then 30, then 40, then 30, then 20...Worse now that some Regional Councils have introduced blanket 20mph speed limits in all towns and villages. My old (10 years ago?) Garmin GPS used to have a speed display screen that you could toggle to. It gave you a very clear picture of a white circular analogue speedometer with a red needle and numbers - I can't remember what model it was but it would have been as a cheap one - I bought it for about £100 +/- when the built in satnav on an Amazon Landcruiser packed up and Toyota quoted me £7,000 plus VAT to replace it - which was probably about what the car was worth. My wife wants to see an analoge speedometer in front of her nose… any ideas? I use the speed on the GPS and add 3kmh. At 103kmh gps the Speedo reads 108 kmh.its the kids in the back seat for me - the screen is front and centre for them, i'm forever being asked why i'm doing 62 if the speed limit is 60...
That just means you’re not trying hard enough.Never had a problem with speed cameras or cops
Way too much, it's just ridiculous over here and with no thorough thought on realities and consequencesWe cant change the speed on the main road thru town, even after 2 people were killed in 4 years. PennDOT does a review, and by PA traffic engineering standards they it should be 35mph. They wouldn't let us change the town resi roads to 15 (its a grid town with parking on both sides of many roads) so we put up 15mph signs anyway, and don't enforce it. Avg speed went to 17mph. The state centralized system can be a pain, but it used data and not feelings, and it does keep towns from turning speed into a revenue generator from non locals, (cough cough Show Low Arizona) so I'm still glad it's there.
It's amazing how much power town councils appear to have have in England.
Me neither. Not while I was driving a 1hzThat just means you’re not trying hard enough.
I moved from a state where speed and red-light cameras were everywhere, to a state where they are nonexistent. It’s like driving in the 80’s where I am now…except half the drivers are looking at their phones.
