We are looking at a unit on the lot that doesn’t have heated seats. We are planning on adding seat covers- any suggestions on seat heaters that will work well and are of high quality?

If you do a bit of searching, Recaro (the OEM) sell heated seat pads.

Whether they are better than the eBay ones, I don't know.

Resurrecting an old thread I know (sorry). Wondering if anyone with a base model trim (no seat heat) has investigated to see if the seat heater pads are already installed in the seats? I know sometimes manufacturers often include things like wiring for options not fitted, and such because of economies of scale, it is cheaper to say purchase all the seats with heaters, than inventory two different types. I remember some years of LR Discovery II's that did not come with seat heat from the factory, actually had the pads installed in the seats, and you could add the wiring and with and have heated seats.

While it is trivial to order them with a new truck, when looking at preowned options, I sometimes come across base trucks that are optioned basically as Trialmasters, but don't have heated seats. No heated seats might not be a deal breaker for the better half, but it would make it more appealing. If it is a matter of buying the switches and plugging in the harness, well, maybe those vehicles shouldn't be overlooked..
