AC / heat in rear seat

I have noticed lack of AC when the ext temperature reading is incorrect. One time it was extremely hot outside but the ext temp indicated 66 degrees. I had the hvac on auto and even on the coolest setting, there would not be cold air. Air was always warm.

Once the infotainment showed the actual ext temp, the ac kicked on
I have noticed this as well. 90 degrees outside and the display says that it’s 72 and the auto climate control won’t give me cold air. Then out of nowhere the outside temp jumps up and the climate control works fine. The issue is clearly software related

There are ongoing issues with the software, for example, I had a trailer light error/warning remain for hours after the trailer had been disconnected (the car was turned off to disconnect the trailer, but the error remained after restart), as well as numerous other glitches, like the delay in reading the correct outside temperature.

There is obviously a lack of real time error correction that should be built into all system/s. Things like ''no trailer = no warnings", it's just very very basic programming.

At first I thought the problems could be to do with chip supply issues with early models, resulting in inconsistencies with chipsets and conflicts, but newer models are having the same issues, so it can only come down to badly designed & developed software.

There were numerous software issues with the initial release, so there must be patches on patches smothering the initial code, which only causes more conflicts and slows the system down.

Given we are still experiencing false warnings and system failures, it looks like the only realistic solution is a full re-write of the operating system (this time including things like updating the service interval).
