Supported USB-A/USB-C Port Power Standards (tested)

Here we go with the poor support of the USB Power standards. We have DCP 5V 1.5A and CDP. Both are nearly the same, except that the Middle-Box USB Connectors have a Data-Connection to the Car-Display. The Connectors in the fond just provide power. [1] [2] As we have 5V * 1.5A = 7,5 W which is...

Build Thread Auxiliary USB charging point in auxiliary footwell power point

Before beginning, let me be clear, I have a Left-Hand Driving (LHD) car. The only “right” way to drive a car 😉. Therefore, if you drive a right-hand car (the wrong way ;) ), you should think in inverting everything I mean: left is right, right is wrong, up is down, and so on. Jokes aside, let’s...

Continuous current for the internal usb connections

With ignition “on” I have power to the USB plugs in the cubby box and the one in the middle of the rear foot room. When ignition is “out” I can switch the overhead power switch. However this online powers the rear usb plugs and not the ones in the cubby box. Does somebody else has this problem...
