Had the update and door locks done yesterday. Question: What, precisely, did the update achieve? Still have to toggle the overspeed off with each start. If there is a particular procedure for locking it out, it was not explained.
What new features are to be expected in the 2026 grenadier model
Stu, I received one of the door handle recall emails here in Scotland some months ago but to date there has been no further communication, my service centre tells me they have not been authorised to replace them and have not received any notification or communication from IA at all !!! can we please ask at the next AMA when IA intend to authorise door lock replacement here in the UK?
Q: Can you set up a forum within INEOS Automotive that technical questions can be submitted, caveat that we'll get with who knows for sure if and when we can, and then post the answers to specific technical questions. Then you only have to answer most of these questions once, on that forum. You've built an elegant beast of a workhorse that was intended to be maintainable by owners, so I think it's reasonable to expect owners to want more engineering-based, decision-based answers for many...
Hi all, I live in Papua New Guinea, where it is rough and remote. We dont have access to any Ineos service centres, so i am going to have to rely on my workshop at work. Where can i get basic service manuals? We do have a OBD scanner.
I've been an owner since the first US deliveries in December 2023, and like many in the early community, I was drawn to the Grenadier because of the original vision Sir Jim laid out—a no-nonsense, utilitarian off-roader built for people who need a vehicle to do work, not just make a statement. We admired that you weren’t trying to compete with the G-Wagen or Range Rover in leather and screens, but with the Defender of old in function and reliability. That’s why I’m struggling with the...
My preferred music source in the Grenadier is folder organized MP3 files on a data stick via USB A. I can instruct the car to play a folder (album) and all the songs in it. However, when I turn the car off one of two things will happen - a) the last song played will resume properly, but the next track is a random selection b) the last song played is forgotten and it plays a random selection The net result thereafter is random songs played from my data stick. This means I must revisit the...
Thread 'Distance Units toggle'
I drive to Canada from Montana periodically and I cannot set distance units from miles to kilometers. I've seen photos of the distance units toggle on a few vehicles. Distance Unit option is not available on my Grenadier. It ruins the drive when I visit BC or AB. ** When will distance units toggle become available to North American Grenadiers? ** I understand that the distance units option was available on early (North American) Grenadiers, but overwritten (deleted) owing to one...
I must say that the opportunity to communicate directly with INEOS is rare, and I appreciate the opportunity. It's in keeping with the uncommon and unique nature of the Grenadier. I love it! Like my fellow owners in Europe and Australia, my HVAC has not been predictable. Only on one occasion have I had nothing but hot air blow from the vents. However, far more common has been the woeful delay in changing the temperature of the HVAC. It is often delayed or wildly different. On several...
There are a couple if software based updates that have arrived or are arriving for newer vehicles that are not as yet available for the early adopters. Is this because there is less compute capacity in the early vehicles and if so is it possible to upgrade ECUs to accept the new updates. Ideally as goodwill for early adopters, but failing that as a paid upgrade.
How about factory pull shades for the Safari windows? Tried using a few aftermarket shades which attach with magnets and they are okay but would much prefer OEM roller shades which can be quickly pulled to block the sun or retracted as needed. If you have a tall upper body your head is like being inside a terrarium on a hot summers day.
I would like to see the option of knowing the engine oil pressure for petrol models in North America (and elsewhere). Oil pressure is a fantastic indicator of overall engine health and would be useful to those intending to keep their vehicles for the duration. I believe this fits with the overall ethos of the Grenadier as being a "forever" car. The unused space in the Temperature pane off the Offroad menu that was formerly used to display engine oil temp would be an excellent location for...
How is Ineos approaching improving the overall access to software updates for dealers and owner user experience? Some thoughts; 1. Local dealer told me I’m due 2 updates but Ineos are slow and yet to release the software to enable an update (along with other feedback re their experience dealing with Ineos 2. Fuel: remaining range accuracy should be accurate. When a tank is filled, it simply states >550km or thereabouts. Surely a simply equation from of driver average consumption/tank...
Hi all and IA, I would like to know if there are plans to open up the service/repair/warranty network to independent workshops in Australia. Having to wait 3 weeks for your nearest agent to inspect an oil leak, fix it, then wait another 2 weeks, after the fix they applied doesn't work, for them to fix it a second time is a pain. Would like to see some choice in the market where I can get my Grenadier fixed including warranty work. I am lucky having a local agent, but their wait times are...
Promotional material and large part of the appeal for the Grenadier was initially aimed towards the owner maintained and repairability crowd. This was to include workshop manuals, parts lists, etc. I understand that with a new brand much is in flux, but I would like to have access to that material in order to better understand my Grenadier’s systems and when possible, effect my own repairs and maintenance. This seems to be a common denominator among those of us who migrated over from the...
Ineos crew, there is an issue with the front driveshaft CV at the transfer case side. The acute driveline angle generates heat causing the rubber on the CV to rip and spill grease. This leads to failure of the CV joint and ultimately immediate loss of forward propulsion. The failures have been well documented. Do you have plans to redesign this part or should owners start looking for their own permanent solutions? This is a serious safety concern that needs to be resolved.
TYRE PRESSURE ALERT BUGS See this post. Please fix those bugs. ALLOW ALERTS OVERRIDE All Alerts should give the user an option to dismiss them. If you are remote it can be hours or days before you get help, being reminded every 60 seconds is mind numbing. Dismissing the alert may mean an hourly reminder rather than every minute or so. CLEAR ALERT In addition to dismissing an Alert, you should have the option to Clear an Alert if it is no longer valid. For example, when you have a High...
We need some control or say over DFP burn offs, instead of “helicopter mode” coming on at anytime it decides. I have lost count the number of times burns off decide to start 2 minutes before I get home. If this occurs in remote Australia in spinifex, the car could be lost by setting fire to the spinifex. My suggestions: When off-road mode is on, no DPF burn offs; When the car reaches 85% before a burn off is to start, the driver is notified; Any time the car is at 85% or more, the driver...
Why does the "Consumers" lug on the Smartpass 120 come with a warning label not to use it. The consumers lug on the CTEK Smartpass dual battery system is there to be used for accessories, such as refrigerators, camp lighting, radios or other electrical equipment you do not want to connect to the starting battery. Why did Ineos engineers chose to delete this function? The reason I opted for a dual battery system is because of this feature. Can we use it anyway without issues?
Overall, I am very happy with my Grenadier Trialmaster, love this truck and enjoy it every time I'm out and about. There are known minor issues, and I do think that most of these issues can be addressed before we (the customer) take delivery of our truck. Here is a list of things I had issues with after I took delivery. 1. Cowl Plugs: I had to go back twice for cowl plugs as they randomly fell out. Dealership replaced the cowl plugs and added sealant to fix the issue. 2. Wiper blades...
