I’m considering a day trip to the Red Rock area north of Mojave on Sunday. Early Sunday departure and late afternoon return. Anyone interested in joining me?

@Commodore did you make it to the Red Rock area? I always drive by it on my way up to Mammoth.

I have been to The Trona Pinnacles which I would say is worth the visit, just east of Ridgecrest, probably just like 50 miles from Red Rock Canyon area.

I didn’t make it there last weekend but have been there with the Grenadier before. I have also been to Trona. Trona is out this world but sorta a one trick pony. Red Rock has more to offer and could easily make you think you are in southern Utah.

@Commodore Would be cool to check out the Burro Schmidt Tunnel:

I see that Redrock Randsburg Road (797) is still closed from the prior rains, thats the road I took last time visiting Trona. So I guess you couldn't take any of the Red Rock Canyon trails down to the 797 and back to the 14, would have to back track back to the 14. Also looks like Iron Scenic Trail and Black Rock Canyon Trail (closer to Ricardo) are still closed, but Opal Canyon by Dove Springs appears open
