I guess I can take this out my recovery gear box.No one is actually going to attempt to bang a steel wheel straight on the side of trail. It’s just buying into the EXPO hype along with hanging stuff all over the side of your vehicle.![]()

You won’t use it on a wheel.I guess I can take this out my recovery gear box. View attachment 7920987
Just shows we will have completely valid but DIFFERENT aesthetic opinions & functional needs.I think I have realized why I hate the alu rims.
The grenadier’s body design is excellent. Any wheel that is overly decorative at best takes focus away from the grenadier m. At worst the wheel design clashes the design of the body.
The aluminum wheels are in that worst case category. Every fieldmaster I see, my reaction is - that’s an ugly vehicle - amazing how destructive those wheels are.
The steelies have zero decorative attributes. They simply blend with tires and wheel well, putting the grenadier’s design front and center
then field master rims with the stupid silver ring is the worst thing in the automotive world.
Why does Ineos do this crap? It's the same shit as these new toyota rims... Is there a name for this style? fake beadlock ?Agree. And I have them. The fake beadlock look is terrible.
Those OWL wheels are fine because they are understated and they blend away into the background.Just shows we will have completely valid but DIFFERENT aesthetic opinions & functional needs.
I have been offered a set of brand new OWL alloys for free but actually prefer the look of the OEM 17” wheels. Can’t stand “steelies” anymore and YES I do own a number of original Defenders/Series with steel wheels.
Not sure I agree. There’s some aftermarket options out there that look fantastic. Comb through this thread. I have Methods and am happy with the look. I do agree that understated is a good thing. There is literally no wheel that looks good on the Ineos.
