Hi - I have just tried to fill my new Grenadier for the first time but cannot insert the spout due to a metal "door" closing off the hole. Using a standard nozzle (not hi-flow) which fits nicely into the rubber sleeve at the entrance but the "door" stops the nozzle going further than 20mm. The sales agent does not know what is happening and has gone home, presumably without looking at the pic I emailed. I have an early start tomorrow - and an empty fuel tank - any help would be appreciated.

Is this normal? In all markets? I never heard of such a thing … owned 3 diesel cars.

Imagine discovering, out in the bush, Jerry can in-hand?

I hope you buy your plumber a drink before you go searching around in his junk.
I even ask him always if I may throw something into it. :)

FYI: his father made our house plumbering and heating, and he is now the junior.

I don't think so. Ordinary Aussies are allergic to diesel cars for some reason - not like Europe at all. In the country Diesel is much more common for trucks and 4WDs, and all of them are happy with hi-flow pumps - and 30mm OD nozzles. A 25mm OD nozzle would be just a concession to effete southern city folk.

Bought a fuel can lately. It came with 2 nozzles (different diameters), the red one for petrol and the black one for diesel.

This is pretty normal, my Mercedes has it and generally requires a really good shove to get past it!

Yes, a diesel.

I think it's a good idea to have an adapter tube in the car which you can slip over any jerrycan nozzle in case somebody has, like me, a can with a petrol nozzle and thus could not help you.

The market is already prepared:
Perhaps it would help for hi flow pistols as well - if you operate the pistol carefully.

My Honda came with a similar device, for use with a fuel can and the cap-less fuel door. This is petrol but I’ll have to measure it.

@Krabby. Or @Stu_Barnes Can we take this off of SOS now that the problem is solved. Maybe move it to a separate thread.
