Tyre pressure warning

Anyone else experienced the readings on the tire pressure screen are off compared to the actual pressure in the tires? I keep mine at 36 PSI all around verified using several different pressure gauges but I’ve noticed a +/- difference of about 2 PSI between actual tire pressure and displayed pressure on the TPMS screen. All sensors seem to be off in the same direction at the same time it’s not like one is -2 while another is + 2.

Cold in the morning I’ve never had the TPMS screen match what is in tires. If I do change the pressure the screen won’t register the change if the vehicle is sitting static in the garage for example engine running, etc… I have to drive a couple of hundred yards while watching the screen to see the changes register and when they do they are off by about 2 psi on all four tires.

Doing the cold pressure reset static in the garage doesn’t seem to do anything and the screen seems to only display the last read pressure before the vehicle was turned off on the previous drive cycle. Now if I check pressures in morning then drive off with the TPMS screen up you can watch the sensors start to read and that’s when I do the cold pressure reset “on the fly” hoping the short distance I traveled didn’t heat up the tires or change pressure too much from my desired setting.

Doing this I’ve been able to keep the high/hot tire pressure warnings at bay. I get the theory behind the system but it could use some refinement and a slightly larger range before triggering a warning. Not even going to get into the inability to rotate tires issues without the sensor tracking correctly. It is what it is for now I guess.

I'm with you regarding the range. Temps were widely different this past weekend; cold in the morning and above 90 degrees by afternoon. I was getting errors all over the place.

Now that I know how to set the thresholds, I'll do so.

Still, a wider range makes way more sense. And as for the TMPS reset thing; I'm also there with you.

The dealer needs to calibrate your tpms....they spent some time with mine last visit trying to get one tire correct. It took me a while to figure out I could reset the baseline threshold....when I air down or up. ;) So you are not alone.

I want to be able to disable the high pressure warning. I'm fine with the low pressure. I'd set it at say 20psi or so. I really don't need to know if my tires have raised in pressure a bit due to a little heat.

Now the Temp readings are of value. I would tolerate a high temp alarm.
