My Army buddy and I were exchanging compliments about our service in the U.S. military. He served in the Army, while I served in the Marine Corps, and both branches are celebrating their 250th anniversaries this year. Interestingly, not many people knew it was the Army's birthday, but Marines have been celebrating with the Marine Corps Ball on November 10th for years. During our conversation, my friend shared the wisest thing he has ever said: “You know, the Marine Corps and your Grenadier have something in common. They were both founded in fine drinking establishments—Tun Tavern for the Marines and Grenadier Pub for the Inos.” Wow! It felt like the stars and planets were aligning with that wise observation, and I wanted to share this knowledge. Enjoy!

Any ghosts at the Tun Tavern ?
"Legend has it that Grenadier is named after young Cedric, a soldier who was caught cheating at cards and punished by being beaten to death."
