I've noticed that when I park as usual, I can turn off the engine and remove the ignition key while holding the brake pedal and still in D. My Grenadier automatically shifts to P without any fuss.

I suppose this is a bad habit to develop in general. However, I'm kind of curious if this is ok to pull this trick off with Grenadiers specifically?

It does mean when I drive my wife's car I forget. Of course it bleeps at me and tells me to shift to park.

I thought that was standard on all modern torque converter automatics electronics.

I wish it didn’t drop into park when you open a door it’s a big bang with a trailer on all I want to do is look at the wheels.

It doesn't do that when you push off-road mode.... then you can open your doors without the gears going to P. But not sure if this works in high gear... Need to try it to be sure.

Interesting, mine doesn't do this. I can open the door and drive the vehicle even when not in off-road mode. This is on a pre-ADAS vehicle (MY23), maybe later ones can't do this.
