So, knowing what you know, would you buy it again?

it has nothing to do with pleasing me. It has to do with doing thing right for the customer.
all one has to do is read thru the post on this website and you can see the same problem
areas being repeated.

Just remove the rear seats or put in a drawer system so it is level with seats in down position. They can then be used as a level sleeping platform.

As long as the aircon is gassed you don't need to worry about the HVAC, it's having variations between full heat and cold. Once your faulty reservoirs have been changed (or not if ok), then you will get mid temperatures, you just have to spend time learning it's quirks.
I must be lucky.
I live in a very hot location (25 degrees at 3 am a couple of days ago) and we are seeing mid 30's at the moment and the aircon is coping no problems.
I tend to get in, open safari windows, open front windows, turn aircon up and get the temp inside down to about 20 degrees.
Then I close the windows but leave safari windows open.
Temp settles at about 23 degrees which I am very happy with.
My Mercedes had better aircon but it was a Mercedes coupe so a lot smaller cabin to control.

As much I love mine. My wife would not let be buy another because of the amount of time and effort I spend on it. She doesn’t enjoy driving it. The flaws define character and it’s certainly brought me closer to appreciate it yet at the same time hate it when things do go wrong and the dealer is so far away. The reason why I haven’t sold it yet is there is simply nothing quite like it. Well there is, and it’s a Suzuki Jimny which I also own. The Grenadier is basically a grown up version of it.

If I didn’t have the 5 year warranty it would be long gone because it would not make financial sense as I’m semi retired.

Also with the way how the government is squeezing every last drop of money out of motorists who enjoy driving a big diesel isn’t looking rosy (what’s going on in Cardiff). I’m dreading future road tax hikes.

I have ever only bought the same vehicle from the same brand unless it’s absolutely perfect but then life would be boring wouldn’t it.
Sounds more like the wife needs to go.

I made this up for the rear and it gives plenty of storage and a completely flat floor.
I see a lot of reviews where they don't flip the rear seat bases up or take the headrests off and then complain the rear seats don't fold flat.
Stupid

Hopefully I won't need to buy one again, but did I make the right decision to buy this one.
Hell Yes
I had problems with the rear door sensor to start with, which was fixed and no further issues.
Software issues to start with but fixed long ago.
We don't have the stupid ADAS so no problems there.
I am very happy with the steering in mine.
I drive a Hilux dual cab ute for work Monday to Friday and just love it when Friday afternoon comes and I get to park it and drive the Grenadier.
48,000 kms and it has loosened up nicely
The diesel is great to drive and very understressed.
Now that I have sorted local servicing I am very happy.
The service overdue light flashes silently every few minutes but I just ignore it.
I will be near a dealer in a couple of weeks and will get them to reset it.

Toyota doesn't get the heart racing?
Shoulda bought a Jeep
Gotta love the French Land Rover though.

Considering that I went into a new 2000 Discovery Series 2 ownership and came out happy, maybe I have a low bar but it's a no-brainer that I would buy the Grenadier again. To me, the only 2 annoyances so far is all of this concern surround the front driveshaft (which I haven't had to deal with yet) and the wonky AC (which I deal with on occasion).

The Toyota is so cheap and nasty inside, but then again it is the SR model and only costs $53,000 so...........
I would never even consider buying a Jeep.

I only paid $121K for my Grenadier but I just checked the website and it came up to $143K plus on roads before it asked me to contact a dealer for pricing.

I jumped into a Prado and a 300 series Landcruiser while at the Toyota dealer last week and they were horrible.
Clearly they have intentionally made the Prado feel smaller than the LC300, as they are both on the same platform, but damn they were busy and crowded inside.
Not to mention damned expensive at $98K for the Prado and $158K for the LC300. without bar work and other accessories.

@DaveB Being an early adopter is a risky business. ;)
Porsche Grenadier - there is no substitute

I sometimes wonder if it is just a few folks having an issue or two but they chatty kathy it up. Is it really that bad or have issues been addressed (speed bong) or determined to be customer preference (steering stabilizer)? Pretty sure the entire world knew the seats did not fold flat before they made one and, while it would have been nice, was not a deal breaker for me due to my lack of customer preference about it. Anyway, Ineos Customer service has always treated me well.
