My Air Force squadron put in an order for a custom Breitling.

Received it last year. I'm a Rolex guy personally so I never really wear it- though I did wear it once on a flight just so it has some provenance :D

It's more of a safe queen/ collectors piece but I'm glad I snagged one!

Mine is #3/39
I don't own many watches but Breitling and Longines are my favourites. Breitling because I just like them and Longines because my father owned one which I now have.

I have to figure out how to operate this.

"Recent" acquisition... purchased it over a year ago but finally done with servicing and wristwatch conversion. It's an all-original 1917 Royal Flying Corps (predecessor to RAF) Mark V cockpit clock made by Omega for the British military. Saw service in WW1. Lume version intended for night flying which was in its infancy at the time. Their famous Caliber 19 movement that led to the company being renamed Omega shortly thereafter. This is definitely the most unique piece I've got in my collection, straps were handmade based on similar found in military museums. No photos with the Grenadier yet as it's in the shop for 2 weeks getting the steering column replaced :'(

Because it will be a while before my new grenadier arrives, i'm consoling myself by putting together my overlanding equipment piece by piece. Here are the first two parts that you can't go wrong with, and that I always want to have with me on my trips.

A handy Fiskars X11 splitting axe, and a lightweight Silky Accel 240 curved folding saw.
Both are not too heavy bust still solid tools.

What about some clever mounts for those maybe? When you need access in a hurry. 🤣

I've had the overlander for several years - It's pretty good, has a few more features than a standard garmin unit, specifically if you are towing or operating a large RV. It is compatible with the Garmin GTM series digital traffic receivers, which can be useful in highly populated areas. I'm a really big fan of having multiple GPS's available when traveling - I can toss my wife the overlander and she can find a camping spot or identify a stop for lunch while I maintain course from Google Maps. I've also used the overlander off-road while using On-X off road or Gaia GPS on a tablet or Android auto.
