Hello everyone,
I want to start preparing my summer trip with the kids and we’ll travel from Belgium to Scotland with our QM.
I am looking forward to meeting with other Grenadier owners along the way!
A few questions for those who know:
- Any good resource to get info on sustainable greenlaning in Scotland? What is allowed and what is not, what is frowned upon?
- Any recommendation of unique location only reachable with a 4x4?
- Overlanding: We’ll not be 100% overlanding, but looking for basic rules - internet says to seek land owner’s approval but how do you find them, or know that a specific patch of land is private?

I’m not looking for hard-core 4x4 as I will have the kids (12 & 15) with me. The first winch use will amuse them, but 4 times a day will get them bored fast!
Anything you want to recommend, please do not hesitate.
Thanks and see you up there.
Laurent

No green lanes in Scotland. You would need to get permission from each landowner.
Try joining or posting on the Scottish Grenadiers social group for plenty of local information.
Scotland is a large area so some ideas of where you plan to travel would be a help for us to offer an advice/suggestions

Thanks, I guess we’ll focus on northern parts / highlands from east to west. I know for sure my kids want to see the Jacobite train track and Skye is also a nice place. I just love Inverness as well so we’ll focus between these two areas.
Interested to check this social group, is it on this forum or a separate channel?

I don't want to put you off. But there's not much off road driving in Scotland.
However there is this:
And the FLS also have some..
I would personally recommend the drive from Callander up the A84 - A85 - A82 towards Fort William, you'll pass through Glencoe and then take to Corran ferry across to the Ardnamurchan Peninsula. the drive along the south of the peninsula is really pretty (and slow) there's some quiet campsites out that way. From there there's ferries across to Mull if you want to go there..
