Hello everbody,

I want to remove the cupholder between the front seats for installing a self-made tray. I removed the four screws but the cupholder wasn't removable. Are there some clips or is there a trick to remove the cupholder?

Thanks a lot for your answers.

Greetings,
Roland

Hi Roland, I did this last week to add some more USB sockets. I had to remove the other two panels first starting with the one around the gearshift. Once they are both off it should pull out easily. Looking forward to seeing your storage solution!

My tray is ready now...

I still need an anti-slip mat.

And perhabs I will install a storageplace below this tray for things, you don't need every day. And perhabs I will make this tray a little bit nicer. This was my first one to test how it works.

Photos of your extra USBs please, and di you run these off one of the footwell supplies?

Here are some photos. I followed instructions from @Cheshire cat including use of Posi-tap connectors. Make sure you use the cigar lighter circuit and not the USB circuit. N.B you need to have long fingers!

Love it. The storage here was an issue and cup holders are useless basically. Great idea the tray.

You now need to cover the tray by gluing on a soft stretch felt in grey so it matches the interior.

Do your guys’ cup holders also warm up as outside temperatures are falling?!
