Ranger is smashing the combined Toyota Hilux and LC79 sales in Australia. Ranger Superduty will be an easy sell considering it was developed in Australia. It was driven by a lot of interest from many large companies and government departments. It's using the re-engineered 3L V6 from F150 in the states. Ford Territory and F150 didn't seem to have the crank issues like Land Rover.
At least the engine is not a welt belt design. I wonder what engineering team thought a wet belt was good idea then inflicted the world with it.

too bad they aren't selling them in the States.
They weren't going to sell the ranger here at all, and then they did. Give it to the next oil spike, and we'll see it. Full size have gotten a tad large. A modern Ford ranger is bigger and 700lbs heavier than a 1970 Chevy fleetside pickup.

Would Ranger SD cut excessively into the F150 worktruck market in the US or Canada? The RHD F150 is an expensive luxury ute in Australia.

The original idea Ford had, was to sell a cut rate f150 here in place of the ranger, but there was apparently still a demand here for a "small" truck in the market and Chevy forced their hand. Not that these are actually small trucks anymore.

My guess would be, that it would cut into some f150 sales, but Ford is proud of their dominant market share, and if comes down to it, they would rather lose some f150 to a ranger than lose some f150 to a Chevy Colorado as once one manufacturer sees sales somewhere, they tend to pile into the zone. As soon a Chevy sees Ford is tooled up for a 3/4ton ranger, it'll be like Dr Stangelove's ending with the tunnel building. They won't want a product gap! :)

The Australian spec Ford Ranger Super Duty pay load, and prices were released today for the cab chassis. It has been mentioned 850mm wading depth at GVM so close to 900mm empty. Will it be the new "Ultimate Tourer" base in Australia?
My guess with the specified payloads it's going to be a pretty rough ride empty for most people.

To gain comfort load it up... However what's the gcm. Great coming to the table with another option but I still just couldn't pick a ranger 😜

Still got the 3.0 cranksnappa in it though hasn't it... Hard pass
Different bearings and crank design to fix the issue with the inlet holes in a different location and better / bigger bearings
Plus a much better service interval, not the BS LandRover 23,000km interval.
Who in their right mind thinks that’s acceptable for a highly strung diesel pumping out nearly 200kw and 600nm….

Ford put a bigger cooling package in and derated to 154Kw 600Nm. Ford did have a few engines in Rangers destroy cam drives and the the valve gear. The 10 speed also has had a few issues. We'll have wait to see how it goes on YT when there will be few caravan influencers dropping their Land Cruisers for Ranger SD

This will hurt Toyota 70 series sales, especially now the 70 series is a mere 4 cylinder.

The US Truck RHD conversion market will come under pressure as well. The Ranger Super Duty is competitive against the RAMS and F series trucks for towing big caravans.
