Prospective owner, deciding between 2025 and 2026

Maybe this should have been my first post.
I’ve been researching the wagons for a month. Obviously had concerns about drivability and reliability issues commonly discussed on this forum. Admittedly, have not off roaded at all, but am willing to learn. This vehicle will spend over 95% of its time on pavement as a DD. Any advice is appreciated.

it’s not like other equivalent vehicles and has a character all of its own. It’s not as refined as the all new defender for example. It’s a sort of cross between a bmw 5 series and a unimog.. It’s also not that common and is a “cool” ride.. Steering - you get used to it. Havc - has a mind of its own. Great for towing, road trips and general utility.

Off road - it’s super capable and tyre choice can be the only limiting factor.

As for reliability, it’s never missed a beat and I have a very early one. Ineos have done various bits of work, software update, door buttons, keys but that was sort of expected in a new vehicle from an untried manufacture like Ineos.. I also change the oil every 6000 miles as we plan to keep it up to the point I get a Viking funeral …..

Approximate price difference between a comparably equipped 2025 and 2026, with factory cash back, is about $8k. Price of options were increased for 2026. In addition, some options were unbundled.

Wonder if you can even find a new 2024 as well??? Should get major bucks off that, it being same as 2025.

Assuming identical options, less is more - MY25 for less nanny features, less money. @Tenac ‘s suggestion to find a ‘25 is good too, but I think these will be sparsely equipped leftovers. I’d vote for the ‘25 and get the dealer to throw in free accessory installation.
