How is your foot/knee - did I miss an update?
I’m lucky as I can get in with the orthopedic as a “walk in” (har har). He said the knee is likely a meniscus but he wants to wait two weeks to see how it fairs, as an MRI on my “old guy played sports in the 80’s” junk is gonna show garbage in there anyway, and the ER was wrong about the ankle break, it’s just a low sprain.

So, I’m just doing the old man shuffle everywhere. Me thinks its time to move from a 3 story to a ranch… that’s my take away right now. The only issue being, my town was built in 1880, there is no open land, and all houses are multistory.

Thanks for askin’ !

“Walk in” - good one 😁! I hope you can avoid ortho surgery - it can really be a tough call, and ortho surgery doesn’t always have the best outcomes.

No way, the ER was wrong…?! How can that possibly be possible… (extreme sarcasm)..?! Ugh healthcare sucks in today’s world. I was in the ER about a month ago and it was so frustrating - if the problem and solution isn’t readily apparent, no one wants to bother figuring it out really. They only want to make sure you’re stable enough to leave.

And thats the job, really. I think the issue, at least to me, is case follow up. In my case, they recommended seeing an orthopod, and I'm fortunate enough to be able to walk in. The cracks in the system kick someone else to the curb. They have to jump thru hoops and wait months. Now, apply that to something more serious. For what we pay, there should be better integrated case management, instead its just pay to play, making more billions for billionaires.

And yes, going to avoid surgery (and ski slopes) if I can. I'll be forced to sit by the cabin fire and drink I guess. (there are worse fates)
