It's a pity Lorella Springs was closed to single vehicle tourers and campers. Pretty sure only a single 4x4 tour bus company has the only access now. It was a great place to go.
Bureaucracy at its best. Not content on closing many tracks and National Parks, now they are targeting Station Stays.

There is a bunch of new regulations, fees and tourism bereaucrats in the NT driving businesses out. Not just an NT issue it seems like everywhere is getting closed, over regulated and more costly to visit.
 
The Fiat 130 is a classy looking thing, there was a rare manual in silver for sale last year in Sydney that I should have bought.
Lovely 130 (but auto) ; he (Paul) restored it himself. He was the first guy onsite when I parked my Fiat. Turned out his dad owned a garage and he and his son worked on the little Fiats so son could go racing/rallying.
And then he was drafted to Viet Nam as a 20 yo cameraman.
He has some photos of those days for me one day.
He still crawls under his car, but finds it a little tricky at the age of 80.
