Hi all,

Summer weather has officially arrived in New England and this will be my first summer with the Grenadier. Yesterday was about 92°F (33°C). My HVAC fan has always whined a bit but in this heat when I engage the A/C (any level) there is a very loud sound coming from the engine bay. I turn off the A/C and it’s gone. I know we are all familiar with the noise compressors make when a normal vehicle is idling but this is anything but. It’s very loud and very obnoxious. So much so that I shut my engine off when waiting to pick up my son as school because everybody was staring likely thinking this beast was about to explode or start falling apart. I’ll give the dealer a call but I am curious if anyone in the community has experienced something similar.

I took a video but I haven’t yet figured out how to post them on the forum.

Thanks!

If it's in the engine bay it sounds like you mean the engine cooling fan being on high... This is triggered either by warm ambient temps and AC usage or by high engine temps.

This is normal operation if we're talking about the same thing

I have it too. On hot days and only on when the compressor is running. If you get out a walk around, it’s coming from the right front area. I think it’s a secondary / smaller fan. When it kicks into high it really howls. Hit the AC button and it stops.
