I found a Maxtrax MKII board mounting solution...if you have a ladder. Here is what it looks like...

Here is more depth if you are interested with links to what I ended up gathering together to make it work.

I went through a lot of trial and error and returns to Amazon to find what I think are the ideal brackets for the project. They are the only ones I found that not only fit our weird diameter ladders but also that can have the holes spaced the correct distances (at least for the 10 5/8 - 35 inch Maxtrax distances and one can still fit a nut behind the flat surface area. I used the following bits and pieces:

https://a.co/d/c77J28H (one package)

https://a.co/d/ewHmwS4 (one package)

All one would need to do is drill two holes on the passenger side, noting that the top bracket faces towards the driver side bracket and the bottom bracket faces away from the driver side bracket and the hole spacing is different for each one (for Maxtrax MKIIs the driver side to passenger side center to center is 10 5/8 of an inch). The driver side, upper and lower bracket don't have to be drilled. The studs on the mounting board pins are too short to get the correct spacing so that the board isn't up against the ladder, so the threaded female pieces are used to connect the threaded rod to the pins. I cut the threads down to eight remaining on three of the pins and down to six remaining on the fourth one that goes in the passenger side bottom. I also drilled the spacers out to 9/16 of an inch, so that the connectors would fit with a little bit of room to spare. If anyone wants to undertake this project, it cost about a third of what some of the other companies are charging for what I wouldn't consider any better of a mounting solution. I went with the pins because they're easy to simply rotate, and then hold the boards in place, and if I need to lock them, I'll simply use a cable lock between the handle openings and my ladder instead of tiny little locks on the pins. I'm sure if a thief wants anything bad enough they'll just take the whole vehicle, but at least if you're going to a restroom while you're traveling, it might slow them down.
