This seems to be a hairy-nosed wombat and not a naked-nosed wombat. I like these animals. I've only ever seen them in the zoo.
The Tasmanian version Vombatus ursinus tasmaniensis is smaller than the mainland one. Normally they are nocturnal but on cold days they get out and about.
