INEOS gone and replaced......

Has anyone else heard this rust claim (other than the side runners made in China)? It’s the first time I’ve seen someone make that claim.
Ours has been grit-blasted by the Dempster, Trans-Labrador and Great Central Highways so neat finishes underneath have been replaced with mild surface rust. Dempster in particular is a really jagged, tyre-eating aggregate unlike the smooth round gravel in Oz. I’ll jump under tomorrow and take a few photos.

This whole unreliable/getting stuck on a trail thing sounds bad though.

Just too many small issues all the time. I had no confidence in it at the end. I wanted to love it but couldn’t. Had issues with aircon not working on days and then just working again, stick locks, system errors, the tech and apple car play and phone system is horrible. It’s a tiring car to drive day to day and then on long distance drives I started getting cramps from the step in the foot well. Signs of rust at early age also a concern. I wanted to love it but it just couldn’t.
The footwell I can agree with you there mate!!!

I guess the water leaks and unreliability of the off road capabilities. The diff locks are about as temperamental and unreliable as a my missus.
I’m perplexed - never had any issue with the diffs - once ground the center lock THINKING I was in neutral but that was just dumb - other than that one time, center is fine and rear and front engage and disengage right away. The blinking light is a “trailing indicator” based on the sensor, but they lock and unlock right away. I don’t understand the statement “unreliability of the off road capabilities.” It just trundles along in a sublimely boring fashion - exactly as I want it to.

Me neither once I read the manual and realised how it needed to be done. I couldn't get it before I read how to do it though. Many of these people and videos are just pressing buttons without knowing the process and then moaning that it doesn't work properly. However, the OP appears to have had a faulty one that needed replacement.

The OP had an early build. They suffered a number of issues and that is commonplace from most brands when you buy a year 1 new model. I once had a year 1 Audi. I was in the first batch in the UK to get it and that went back to the dealers about a dozen times in the first year. I swore then not to get a year 1 car again, and for that reason, I didn't get an early build Grenadier. I waited for the MY24. I broke that rule last year for my wife and got her a year 1 car last May from a different brand and its been in 2 times for issues and currently has another one I need to phone them up to get booked back in. They have also called it in two further times for TSBs.

The OP also appears to suffer body shape/size issues regarding the RHD lump. I found no problem with the lump and have driven 600 miles in a day, and was still refreshed and had no pains at the end of it. However, some people, due to their height or feet size, arm length, etc, really can't get comfortable in an RHD. I do personally wish there was more range on the adjustment steering wheel as I would prefer to sit another inch back, but my arms are not long enough as the steering wheel doesn't telescope back enough. It's not a dealbreaker as I find the seating more comfortable than my Porsche, where the upper bolsters frustrate me for being too narrow (and I am not overweight, but I do have broad shoulders). On a long drive, I get out of the Porsche with a back ache. These things happen with all brands and different people.

Yes the footwell is a complete fail. It’s such a simple thing but it makes the car a real challenge in long drives.
The footwell thing is a weird one. I actually find it very comfortable, particularly on long drives. I forked out for the Grenx one and found I prefer the stock. Having said that, the fact that it’s even a point of contention probably has to be seen as a failure in it’s design.
