They modified these transmissions with a low stall, heavy duty torque convertor. Wonder if that contributes. Nothing I ever noticed, but then again I only drive heavy duty 4x4s.

There is plenty of advice here on the forum with several areas to check. There should not be any vibration as such but don’t expect SUV levels of luxury NVH as it’s an off road truck. Areas, I checked when I first purchased my car are the heat shields. Especially the air box in the engine bay and the heat shield underneath the car towards the rear. My diesel is now as smooth as my old Volvo XC90 and X5 but not has refined as a RR sport. But start with the heat shield in the air box. If you bang on the air box, ideally it should not clang. If it does then bend back the heat shield at the top right because there is a metal clamp on the other side which it sometimes touches with vibration.I picked my Grenedier up today and about ½ way home in stop and go traffic, I too noticed a vibration. If I put the shifter in neutral, the vibration would go away. I turned on the auto stop/start feature... , it was LESS annoying than the engine vibration. Also, less worrying. With the vibration there was increased engine noise and I believe I needed to apply more brake pressure to keep the vehicle in place. A torque converter not properly disengaging would cause every one of my 3 symptoms.
