Six Grenadiers have a ball in Morocco many thanks to Russ from Ardventures and the other trip mates for making this such a great experience

I'm heading out there this week... Where did you go? any casualties among the cars? and the one on the right of the picture has a strap holding the fuel can on, what happened there? what make of side carrier was it? I have a similar setup and so that has sparked some alarm!

It was epic. Thanks to Russ and everyone on the trip. The strap is belt and braces. Mine lost, I believe, an abs sensor and/or rotator that caused the dash to light up like a Christmas tree and loose many toys. It kept going though and didnt stop me doing any of the trip

Yes there's a gap at the top of the guard over the sensor ring, small stones can get in there, I had that before but I was lucky it didn't get the sensor itself.
Glad you enjoyed it, which parts of the country did you get to?
Back in 2006 I went to the Todra gorge, Erg Chebbi, and the Telouet Kasbah among other places. Back then the Todra gorge road was just a track... we just happened upon Telouet by chance it was an awesome place, I think its more popular now, we were the only people there at the time.

Thats probably been there for a century or more. I'm sure they know what they are doing but it looks like a disaster waiting for a flash flood.

Morocco does see some major flooding for sure but I think that many of the geological features date back to much wetter times. I think the gorge was carved out when the climate there was very different. It was significantly wetter than today in Roman times. But yes I know what you mean. I think from memory the building was actually set a little higher than it looks in the photo.

Lots of tarmac in Morocco these days which makes it easier to get to the bits that are still very remote and bumpy I need not have bothered with the strap or to have filled the cans with fuel as filling stations quite common even in the desert

No signs of any fuel crisis there or rationing then?

None, about £1.20 per litre we used lots
