Hi All. New to this forum obviously.

I have reservations for two Grenadiers ( mainly from a timing perspective).
I have previously owned 2 x Landcruiser 200 TTD, 2 x Landcruiser Prados, 3 VW Amaroks, 3 x VW Touaregs.
I have done real offroading, but plenty of track runs in the past, but my true interest lies in the Towing capability.

It seems as though little has been written on this topic to date, but if the 3500kg towing capacity is a true 3500kg addition (no mucking around with ballweights or lower GCM's)  - then this will be a beast.

Looking forward to the ride.

Yeah I have see that Caravan World review thanks Dave - much appreciated.
There are a lot of positives already as far as heavy towing goes - long wheelbase, wide track, rear axles set well back, aims for a high payload.

But as we know all hopes can be easily ruined.

Thanks for your contributions Dave, looks like you are close to Bozchrome (SLR) on the GC hey.

I am about 15 minutes drive from them. 
I haven't seen one in the flesh yet but happy to proceed with my order once we get some reviews of production product.
I assume I will get one early 2023 at best

SLR build a mean product - quality gear, by brother in law had a caravan built through them.
I wonder what they are thinking in regards to building an overlander out of the Grenadier??

They told me they have the CAD files now and will get demo versions to work on from August.
They plan to offer accessories, lift kits, roof top tents etc. 
I think the dual cab/cab chassis versions will be their real starting point. 
A 2 door, long wheel base cab chassis would be the makings of one hell of an overlander

I think for me, that I will be looking to the Grenadier as a tow horse for the caravan/camper, and not as an overlander (although I can see the appeal of that).

Trying to get the car heavy enough to be able to handle a decent load on the back, without making it too heavy for the rest of the tasks you require of the vehicle is a balancing act.  I do like where they are heading though, based on what I have heard/seen/read it looks promising - but I may well be corrected though.
Tare Weight  = 2500-2600kg depending on options.
Towball Weight = 350kg
Payload  = 1000kg (minus 350kg if you are towing)
GVM = 3500kg 
GCM = 7000kg
Now that would be awesome.

Track, Wheelbase, Ladder Chassis, Axle Rating/Construction, Departure Angle, LT Tyres  - ALL LOOKS GOOD.

Fingers crossed on the final specification though hey.

We were looking at getting a 4WD motorhome from these guys plus a car for myself for work and a car for my wife. 

 Now instead we can get the Grenadier which I can use for work and holidays and maybe tow a small offroad camper trailer

Yes, great stuff.

They have built in everything you want. A complete camper in a trailer.

BUT: For the money, you could let a company build in all these things in a van. Two different concepts of course, but nothing I'd consider just a practical addon to a car: considering the price, this is a different league.
