Anyone else having issues with the plastic shroud around the handbrake button fracturing and chipping away? It seems to be happening right where the stitches are in the leather. Subsequently, I looked back at some pictures of my vehicles interior I took at delivery and noticed a small single chip in the shroud which somehow I missed. Another small piece has since chipped away so I suspect the shroud was probably fractured during assembly perhaps?

I did notice a picture on GrenadiersUSA website (maybe they could make an aluminum replacement) showing a similarly chipped shroud so I’m curious if others are experiencing the same?

Wonder if as a preventive measure, a thin strip of helicopter tape may help. Before any chipping starts. Will look to add some to my own when next at home.

My chipping isn’t that bad but yes, it’s there. When I brought this up to my dealer he said they would warranty it BUT the entire handbrake must be swapped out. IMO all of that disassembly will create more problems than it’s worth. I am hoping that someone in our community will create a solution. We have lots of folks making wonderful billet and machined metal components so maybe one or two will offer something up. I recently got the transfer box knob from @GrenadierUSA and I love it. I can’t wait to get my cup holder cover.

It's not chrome finish but hey, it will match your piano black glossy goodness!

While not quite as big as yours I have the same issue, right above the stitching. Like Krabby waiting for a curious & creative type to rip the whole end cap off, design a new one and put up a 3D file so I can print me a new one.

I've seen those before - I'm not sure how the quality and fit is, but somehow neon yellow doesn't fit the vibe of the saddle leather. The black is probably ok for the normal grey leather but on the brown I'm not so sure.

Agreed, I’m not keen on having the center console dismantled to try and fix this as I’d be concerned about hidden clips being damaged and things being disturbed causing other issues down the road. A nice upgraded aluminum replacement cap/button in a natural or a matching grey finish would suit me just fine.

Looking at how the original was assembled, I’d be concerned a replacement handle might start cracking over the same stitching as the plastic shroud is very thin and the force of it being clipped into place most likely split it to begin with leading to pieces chipping off down the road. Fingers crossed some enterprising forum member has the skills to 3D print or mill an upgraded part.
