Hi all, Steve from Chicago. I pulled the trigger on the Grenadier Monday. A 2024 courtesy vehicle with 2K miles. I was primarily interested in (order of priority - differential lock, alloy wheels, and leather seats) and they had all three. I was 50/50 on the safari windows and this one didn’t have them. Oddly, the badge says “fieldmaster”, and according to the sales rep who was awesome (Billy @ Knauz Ineos Chicago) many of the 2024s came with the wrong badge.

My wife was with me and we stopped for dinner on the way home. When I closed the door for her (because I’m a gentleman and always open//close the car door for my wife) it didn’t close completely. We realized this after driving away and she tried several times to close without success so we quickly stopped. The button was pushed in stuck and a hard “slam” un stuck it. I’m hoping this happened because maybe, not used to the buttons, i somehow kept the button depressed when I closed for her.

Anyway, the next day (yesterday) I drove to O’Hare (the airport in Chicago) and after getting my ticket drove under the rubber 6’6” height rubber bar and it hit the roof (clunk). I panicked because there is one stop in the parking garage where the ceiling seems very low as you go up the ramp but thankfully no scrape. We’ll see if i get the clunk or scrape when I leave, hopefully not. It was fine in my home garage so height was the last thing on my mind.

My wife is 5’6” and she really struggled getting into the truck so I have already ordered the Owl Outdoor Rock Slider/Side Step.

Anyway, happy to be here. This is the first forum I have registered for.

Welcome aboard, some useful links here:

Welcome! I too am from Chicago. I was concerned about the O’Hare parking lot and have been taking my son’s car. I hears the international terminal garage is 8’ which would work but requires a bit more time and the tram.

The button issue is known and Knauz should fix it for you. They’ll provide you a new loaner Grenadier.

These vehicles are so damn cool and unique. You’ll get a lot of comments. With that come the quirks. Annoying at first but you’ll settle in with them and begin to get around most of them. This forum is great for info and for owner experiences.

Ive had mine since October and still love it. I had a guy walk out of a UPS shipping center doing a double take and wondering what I was driving. Never gets old!
