I can't find any reference to what these are, but on the backside of my glovebox it looks like I have a set of contacts for something...

Ok, maybe it isn't such a dumb question... The backside of the door has a cutout for them... I wonder if its for a light or something?

I sent an email to my dealership... Ill see if they know what it is for...

The more I think about it, I em thinking there is a glovebox light that plugged into it that they never built. If I get voltage and it goes on and off with the other lights, I am going to 3d print a case and put and LED strip in it...

Looks quite menacing with those glowing snake eyes. Unlike the goofy guy at the back.

It's for the optional fluxcapacitor - guess you didn't tick that box (glove)?

They look like a couple of simple spring clips to me, not contacts. I don't think a couple unshielded energized contacts poking into a bin people toss stuff in, would be a great idea.

It does look like something is supposed to click in with guides for the unknown device around the existing glovebox light. They don't appear to be electrical connections (no voltage on them anyway).

Another "feature", go in to the passenger side door and turn the ignition on.

The radio then plays of course.

Turn the ignition off, lock the vehicle.

The radio continues!

The only way to turn it off is to unlock and then open and close the driver's door.

They presumably are for LHD and RHD use as they appear to be fitted to both sides, I have them on my LH side glovebox. So I presume it is to hold the fuse board in place when you have the steering wheel on the other side.

Oh interesting idea and you might be right. It was the cutout in the backside of the glovebox that made me think it was something else...
