I drive to Canada from Montana periodically and I cannot set distance units from miles to kilometers. I've seen photos of the distance units toggle on a few vehicles.

Distance Unit option is not available on my Grenadier. It ruins the drive when I visit BC or AB.

** When will distance units toggle become available to North American Grenadiers? **

I understand that the distance units option was available on early (North American) Grenadiers, but overwritten (deleted) owing to one software update or another. This is major pitfall for me. Please, I need distance units.

Same - have to go up to Montreal end of August and checked to see how to switch speed and distance units - “oh crap.”

That’s got to be an oversight or an unintentional consequence of the update. Can’t be intentional surely 🤔 but it needs sorting for anyone that travels north or south of the US border.

I was in Baja a few weeks ago and looked for it and couldn't find it in mine. I have not gotten the ADAS update. I guess mine must have arrived with software that removed it.
It was unavailable for many vehicles at launch, then a software update added it. It appears the latest ADAS update has removed it.

Just got back from driving five thousand kilometers in Quebec and Atlantic Canada where I realized (to my surprise) there was no way to toggle between miles and kilometers (I have the 24.1 software update). The other cross border problem I had was there was no way (I could find) to set my truck to Newfoundland time (which is GMT -3.30). While I'm guessing my Grenadier may have been the first on the ground in Newfoundland, somebody in South Australia (which is GMT +9:30) where there are plenty of trucks must have figured out how to deal with this.

I’d go a little further and say I’d like to be able to toggle imperial/metric for each display. I know it’s silly (damn mixed units) but I want speed and distance in miles and tyre pressure in psi but altitude in metres and Temps in Celsius. 😂

You'd have to punch all the buttons to see how close you could get with that. The top image in my post was sent to me by an Australian fellow who brought his Grenadier to the States. He's part way there (independent units per type). Altitude <might> be the holdout. Agreed, full toggle for each type would be ideal. For now, all I want is distance units so I can drive in Canada without receiving a speeding ticket.

Hello Ineos Automotive,

Why is the distance units toggle disabled for North American spec Grenadiers?

I've asked your tier one support team multiple times over the past year. I've never received an answer. Replies, yes; meaningful answer, no. Please,

It was disabled in the earliest versions of the software and later enabled. I believe a subsequent update has disabled it again.

It seems to be an oversight, not intentional.

Shouldn’t we all just admit that IA has advance notice of the pending invasion of Canada to turn it into the 51st state? They have had a rational system of measurement for entirely too long. It’s unnatural and has to be addressed.

To the best of my understanding, distance units toggle is enabled on Grenadiers worldwide with the exception of North American spec. IA will not say why, or at least they're not telling me. I've asked the first tier customer support group at least three times over the past year. I never got much beyond "The team is working on it" or "Contact your dealer".

I want to know why when I drive to Alberta, I cannot switch over to kilometers.

My gut says I bet it's some stupid legal thing. I'll look...

I did a quick search and that's probably it. While not illegal to use KPH, from what I'm gathering MPH must be shown simultaneously. If you think back to the analog days, MPH were one color on the dial and KM a different color.

Unfortunately, as per vehicle code, in the US the vehicle must show MPH or MPH and KM. Canada has the same law but in reverse. Must show KM or KM and MPH. Since the display on the Grenadier is only able to show one at a time, and does not have the capability of showing both, it must show the one that is standard. Other countries do not have this law so they can have the option to switch back and forth. This is not something that can just be easily changed. It would take a redesign of the headunit/display.

Actually it was enabled with a software update and then removed when they pushed out the ADAS update. I had the option and used it when I went into Canada and then switched back when getting to the US
